It’s another blog hop, peeps! Yay!
So what makes a hero hot to me? Well, I think we all know the answer to this one, don’t we? I mean, if you’ve spent any time at all on my site (particularly the blog) you know the answer. We’ll say it all together, shall we? One, two three – TORTURED, DAMAGED HEROES.
Yeah. Absolutely no surprises there 
One of my very favourite books, LORD OF SCOUNDRELS, features a Tortured! Damaged! hero in the Marquess of Dain. However, to counteract the Tortured! Damaged!-nessness of it all, his heroine is a no-nonsense, sensible, femme fatale by the name of Jessica. *sigh* I do love that book.
Of course, I wrote my own Tortured! Damaged! hero in TEACH ME. The Earl of Malvern is cold and standoffish, but my heroine is too full of joy and humour to allow this for long. Elizabeth brings him out of his shell, and I loved writing their story.
In my upcoming release, western historical romance ROUGH DIAMOND, the hero is neither Tortured! nor Damaged! Something is obviously wrong with me. Rupert is instead a bit mischievous, and Alice, his heroine, is just a bit frustrated by it. Heh.
Oh hot heroes, tortured-and-damaged-almost-beyond-repair-but-for-your-heroine-and-getting-a-swift-kick-up-the-behind, I do love you so!

A hero is hot when he’s got that tender heart on the inside (the one where it’s completely obvious to everyone but him that he’s in love and wants to be loved in return) but on the outside he’s Alpha and strong, kind of a bad ass attitude sort-of look.

It’s a combination of looks, personality, and style. Neo from the Matrix movies for example has all 3, but is slightly lacking in the personality department (at least to me), so there’s room for improvement there.

I love all the same above mentioned character traits in a hero, but I’m going to add a physical one that really gets me going – tattoos. I love a tatted hero. I suppose there’s little chance of that in a historical romance though, lol. But I do adore growly, grumpy heroes, who have to face off with a heroine they deem is “too sweet” or “deserves better than me”. It’s just fun to see them cave

Sexy, strong, loyal and fearless! Ian from Killer Secrets by Lora Leigh emobodies this. He fought for what he wanted and would not give up! Ian is one of the best hero’s that I’ve ever read. He had flaws but used them for good. His courage was inspiring.
