Continuing on with Silk once again, Thomas and Nicola are not quite up to shenanigan stage just yet…
She sighed. “This again, Thomas?”
“We are no longer children talking over a fence, Lady Nicola. You are who you are and I— ” He resisted the urge to run his hand through his hair. This morning he’d spent an hour taming the stupid curls, and he would not wreck his efforts because Lady Nicola Fitzgibbons had chosen to return to his life.
Oh, poor Thomas. Methinks you do protest a tad too much.

Oh, I do love the manners. That’s one of things I enjoy most about Regency and Victorian roms – unresolved sexual tension expressed with extreme politeness. 🙂
